Stretching your talented child beyond the classroom

  • Does your child feel that they are being held back by their class peers?
  • Do they finish set homework quickly?
  • Does the teacher inform your child that they are asking too many questions and being disruptive?

Your child may have a natural aptitude for science or maths which is not being supported by their school teacher. Some students are unfortunately left bored and unmotivated as a result of the slow pace of teaching in their classroom. They are frustrated when they are told off for being disruptive just because they have a curiosity and want to understand more about the subject and at a deeper level.

A tutor can allow your child to study at their own natural pace, encouraging their study beyond the narrow confines of the school syllabus and to follow their interests.

Some children are naturally inquisitive and find that the teacher is unable to answer their questions. Due to the national shortage of science teachers, many are not specialists in the subject and may not have the required depth of knowledge beyond the syllabus. Schools are often more interested in the overall “pass” grades of the class rather than nurturing exceptional talent.

We understand that parents want to support their children’s science education but may not necessarily be specialists in the subject. Our tutors are all subject specialists, many being involved in research and immersed in the subject on a daily basis. They would be delighted to provide support and encouragement to young talent – nurturing their interest and broadening their horizons, not simply preparing them for exams and assessments.

There is no reason why your child should be restricted to study at the pace of the school curriculum.
